Today’s supplier is the talented Bluebell and Ivy – Professional florist
Favourite colour
This changes regularly – at the moment it is “serenity” blue – one of pantone’s colours of 2016.
It’s actually the colour that inspired our Bluebell and Ivy brand.
Favourite movie
It has to be ‘Walk the line’ – a 2005 American movie based upon the early life and career of country singer jonny cash.
It’s fab – I love true stories!
Favourite song
This is a difficult one – I have always loved the spice girls ever since I was a little girl. – However I am absolutely mad about Michael BublÉ … so it will have to be one of his songs named ‘everything’.
Favourite part of a wedding
Meeting my brides and bringing their ideas to life is definitely my favourite part.
I really enjoy taking snippets of their imagination, combining them with my creative love for flowers and producing something extra special for them.
The thought of creating pieces so bespoke and different each and every time is what keeps my innovation alive.
The possibilities are endless!
About you & your business
My name is Lauren Hart – I am the owner and floral designer at Bluebell and Ivy.
I first entered the floristry world at the age of 14 as a Saturday girl for Deborah’s Florist on Ainslie Street, Barrow. Over time, Deborah and the girls who worked there trained me in every aspect of working with flowers, from teaching me all the technical elements of floral design to learning how to condition, prepare and understand flowers.
At 19 I started at Loughborough University where I gained my degree in textile design – This was an invaluable experience as I was taught to understand colour and texture combination along with how to watch and forecast trends – this is now a natural instinct of mine and I always apply this to all areas of my floristry work.
In my spare time, whilst I was down south, I gained a certificate in ‘advanced bridal’ floristry at the well-known Jane Packer School in London. This was when I realised that I really wanted to be back in a flower shop – and so I began planning the launch of Bluebell and Ivy.
