Tell us a little bit about your business…

Bridal & special occasion makeup artist, trained in Manchester Trafford college have been working in the south Cumbria area for three years, freelance and home-based, using a variety of high-end makeup.

 

What is the best thing about working in the wedding industry?

Working the in the wedding Industry is one of the best things I love about doing makeup, I find it very satisfying once showing the finished result to the bride and also the outcome of the photographs.

 

Why do you think it’s important for couples planning their special day, to visit wedding fairs?

It’s very important for couples to visit wedding fairs to see the different varieties and packages that business can offer

 

Do you have any new products you will be introducing in the new year?

I am constantly updating my makeup kit with the best high-end product once something new is available.

 

Do you have any special offers available at the Wedding Fair?

I do offer a special discount when a group booking is made.

 

What is the BEST piece of advice that you can give to a couple planning their wedding?

Be very prepared, book in advance and don’t stress it’s all worth in the end!

Tell us a little bit about your business…

11 years strong, Teresa C Photography has taken me from Newcastle to New York. Surrey to Santorini and many many more amazing places both in the UK and abroad. Natural, laid-back and most importantly FUN is the approach both in shooting your special day and in life for me. Having come from a documentary/ journalistic photography background people watching is something I have done my whole career. This means those often missed moments on your wedding day get captured forever for you to look back on a relive. I love to get to know my couples and most importantly have a laugh with them which means I can shoot your fabulous day with ease, grace and most importantly fun! Let’s create something you will want to hang on your walls. Covering Lancashire, Cheshire, the Lake District and beyond I want to bring a fun, natural and relaxed feel to your wedding photography.

What is the best thing about working in the wedding industry?

I am around happiness ALL THE TIME! I wake up happy, I go to sleep happy. I spend my weekdays looking at the happy, smiling and sometimes tearful (in a happy way) faces of Brides and Grooms. I get to laugh and joke with the boys and have a play with the girls on a wedding morning. I get to hear how people met, got engaged….. I live in a Romantic comedy. Oh and I get to eat Cake! We all love Cake!

Why do you think it’s important for couples planning their special day, to visit wedding fairs?

Wedding Fairs are a great way of see what is out there without the “fear factor” when looking around online. You can see your venue dressed at an amazing potential. Meet the suppliers face to face and get to know them a little more and best of all snag yourself a few cheeky offers that wouldn’t be available else where!

Do you have any new products you will be introducing in the new year?

I have beautiful new albums to share along with now offering Post-Wedding sessions which you can add on to your package if the weather is less than kind on your wedding day! A great excuse to trash the dress or just get done up again for an hour or two after your big day!

Do you have any special offers available at the Wedding Fair?

I am offering a shiny 10% off any bookings made before the end of 2017!

What is the BEST piece of advice that you can give to a couple planning their wedding?

Remember that your wedding day is YOUR wedding day. We all want to keep our friends and family happy and want them to have as much fun on the day but sometimes this can overshadow the who point of the day and that point is the two of you! If you don’t want something to happen or be done then don’t do it. If you want to throw away with tradition….throw it as far as you can. The day is yours and yours alone so do what you want to do and if you happen to touch a few toes don’t worry……they will still love you in the morning

Tell us a little bit about your business…

Corr’s cakes is a award winning cake design business that has been creating beautiful and bespoke cakes for over 8 years. Each order is unique to the couple and is created with the upmost care and attention to detail. The taste is just as important as the look which is why we offer over 12 delectable flavours. Despite the many hours of hard work that goes into each beautiful creation, our prices are always reasonable.

 

What is the best thing about working in the wedding industry?

Meeting and working with all my lovely couples and their families. Many of them will come back time and time again for other important celebrations cakes. Some of my past couples have even become friends, there is nothing nicer than meeting two people so in love and excited to start they married life together. It makes me feel very honoured to be part of something so special.

Why do you think it’s important for couples planning their special day, to visit wedding fairs?

To shop around and gain ideas, most businesses are online theses days but it’s always nice to meet theses people in person and see their work up close. Plus there will be many ideas at the fairs that you didn’t think of or know were possible. And sometimes there are discounts on offer, which is always a bonus.

 

 

Do you have any new products you will be introducing in the new year?

I am always trying out new techniques and keeping up to date with current trends. Plus there are always new flavours being cooked up in the kitchen.

Do you have any special offers available at the Wedding Fair?

Yes, I will be offering 4 tiers for the price of 3 plus a free couples cake!

What is the BEST piece of advice that you can give to a couple planning their wedding?

Book early! Once you have decided on a supplier, book them early. No one wants to be disappointed by missing out on their preferred supplier.

Purple. We both met with a mutual love of Purple, and that hasn’t changed in the years we’ve been together. We even have a purple fireplace in our home!

The Ice Dance from Edward Scissorhands – for our first anniversary, Katie commissioned the INCREDIBLE Leos Quartet to record a one-off arrangement of this for strings – let’s say it holds a rather special place in our hearts.

Favourite part of a wedding

We love wedding mornings! As a husband and wife team, we get to spend the whole morning with ‘our half’ of the wedding party, capturing the excitement, nerves and last minute emotional moments before the ceremony. We both love to see what the other has been up to when we meet up after the ceremony to shoot the rest of the day. We love all of a wedding day, but the morning preparation is where we can really start to create an authentic story personal to our couples, and is the foundation of the way we work to capture the rest of the day.

Hi, we’re Katie and James, a Husband and Wife wedding photography team from Lytham St Annes in Lancashire, and we travel all over the UK and internationally for our couples. We have a very relaxed and natural style, and having us both means we can shoot from two unique perspectives throughout the wedding day. We focus on the emotion, the connection between family and friends at a wedding, and our aim is to create an authentic visual story of the wedding day from beginning to end.

About you & your business

I Have been a florist for 8 years and became sole owner of Efflorescence 3 years ago which has been amazing, there is nothing better than going to work everyday  doing a job you actually love. Whether it be  arranging flowers for funerals, sending flowers everyday, doing corporate and charity events as well as wedding flowers it really is a pleasure and so rewarding.

My favourite colour is grey, it’s been a very popular colour scheme with bride and grooms this year and one I used for my own wedding. It also features heavily in my decor at home.

I am not really much of a movie buff but really enjoyed the Wolf of Wall Street which starred Leonardo Dicaprio.

So hard to pick one favourite song as there are so many. The album I have on in the car at the moment is Blossoms, Charlemagne always makes me turn the volume up nice and loud.

My favourite part of a wedding as a stylist is seeing everything come together on the day. I love to see the bride and grooms themes come to life and how the choice of our chair covers and sashes compliment their decor, favours, flowers, cake and wedding outfits.

Sitting Pretty was established in May 2015 by myself Marie Scott after taking over the business from a busy local florist. With over ten years experience in the creative industry I decided to take a bit of time out to spend with my family and through planning my own wedding the perfect opportunity arose to start Sitting Pretty. When I started out as a Wedding Photographer it was always my dream to be able to photograph a wedding at Abbey House and when I got the chance I thought “yes I’ve made it”!!! From the very first wedding I photographed at Abbey House the Management and Staff have always been extremely helpful. Abbey House Hotel and Gardens is a stunning setting with a real sense of history and a unique and elegant style. I have a great relationship with the staff and admire how they welcome guests to every type of function!
