Outdoor ceremonies* at Abbey House Hotel & Gardens can truly add another dimension to your special day. Abbey House enjoys 14 acres of manicured grounds all set within our private walled surround. Slightly further afield at the end of our ground lies the magnificent Furness Abbey in the ‘Vale of Nightshade’. Dating from 1123, Furness Abbey was once the second most highly regarded Cistercian monastery in the country. Now the ruins are protected by English Heritage where Abbey House Hotel & Gardens have the privilege of offering a truly magnificent and unique setting for your ceremony**.

• *Outdoor ceremonies are available now in our Al Fresco area. Grounds ceremonies & receptions are also available with one of our amazing outdoor ceremony packages! In all cases you will be required to book a ‘Bespoke Civil Ceremony’ package with the registrars, further details on the link here.
  
• ***All outdoor ceremonies are weather permitting. The final choice of ceremony location lies with the registrar/celebrant only. Ceremonies not going ahead in the Abbey House grounds will be held in the Great Hall or Cavendish Suite, depending on your booked package.
  
• **Furness Abbey is not a registered ceremony venue, a bespoke civil registered ceremony will also be required.
